    Scott, Can you possibly work to automate these process? For example, can you make usenet access an option during new member account creation? And eventually, an option for usenet in the profile? The only thing(??) that would have to dynamically change with login would be the forum page...

    Agreed... Please either make it a separate forum, perhaps under a different heading. As an alternative, you could consider removing the those news posts from the forum altogether. In their place, you could add a column to the main page that includes links to the last five new articles...

    Scott, You now have the surveys/poll item on both the left and right of the main page. People read from left to right, so is there any possibility that you could keep all the polls on the right, and put the recent posts on the left?
