I have a 5 year old i3 (also running windows 7) that I notice lags a lot when I have 50 posts per page on pages that have near 50 posts on it. My newer machines perform great. I assume it probably has to do with a lot of content running in combination with the editor.

I suspect that you are on an older computer typing on a thread page with a lot of posts. You can solve this by cutting back the number of posts per page.

I suspect the main difference is the links to facebook, twitter, youtube, etc that are on the bottom of the normal but are missing on the classic...

It is also nice for non Dish users, I still go through the Dish forum to keep up with what Dish is doing, and not having a bunch of threads about which remote button does something is nice...

Considering how important the hopper is, a separate forum is probably still important. When the next "best" receiver comes out, perhaps change the forum.

What are you using for your DNS server? Are you using the automatic one form your ISP or did you put in something like Google's or OpenDNS? The drawback of using one of the global ones is that you may not get the ideal connection from content delivery services since they use different IP...
