Sorry for all the ?'s but the more I read on here the more I want to play and understand.

I read that with a DishPro 21 I can combine 119 and 110. Then using a DishPro Plus 44 I can then plug in the 61.5, 72, & 77 along with the combined signal from the DP21 switch and see all 5 satellites?

Just out of curiosity is that correct? Is there a limit as to how many satellites one receiver can see at the same time?

limit is 5 sats but that requires a DPP44+ switch and a DP21 switch

with the setup you have (no DPP44+ switch) the maximum is 4

ok. so if I got the urge to do this. I would just combine the 119/110 with the DP21 then run that along with 69.5, 72, and 77 into the DPP44 switch then from there to each of the receivers?

NO, that would not work.

You would need to connect 61.5, 72.7, 77 and either 110 or 119 into the DPP44 then connect an output of the DPP44 to input 1 of the DP21 and the satellite that you did not connect to the dpp44 to input 2 of the DP21. If the receiver is a dual tuner you will need two DP21's and two lines to the receiver you cannot use a separator.

What do you hope to accomplish by having these 5 sats?

The OP is on Eastern Arc and per his previous posts is trying to get NY locals while in Delaware. They wont work on EA (picking up the Virginia spotbeam) but will on 119/110 (119 nets are conus and 110 he is within the footprint). I said for the Big4 + CW & My just move the 110 dish to 119 and be done with it

I believe that this is the same situation my friend needs in order to get Lexington, KY locals in HD and Dish Latino Max channels. Right now she sees 110, 119, and 61.5, but our HD locals are over on 77. They told her today that she'd need to see 5 satellites and that they can't do it. Granted, she has two dual tuner receivers, so it would be complicated and require a bunch of extra wire...

Aren't the NY locals on 61.5? If so, then 77 won't be needed.
Just feed 61.5, 72, 110, & 119 into a DPP44.
The DRPP44 will turn off the internal switch in the 1000.4 allowing you to get 61.5 & 72 directly from it.

Ok. I do currently have 3 dual receivers so it sounds like that would get very messy even though I do think I have at least 2 lines ran to each receiver. Plus the LNB that I have is a DishPro that only has two outputs, one for 110 and one for 119, so in order to hook up just 1 receiver I would need a new LNB with 2 outputs for each. Sound like it would be more trouble than its worth.

That was my opinion re: 5-sat setups. But note what Derwin0 wrote above. He's right on (other than the NY locals being on 61.5 which is also true but you can't get them) regarding 77 and the DPP44 switch. Just feed it 61.5, 72, 110, and 119 and you're done.

61.5, 72, 110, and 119 is my setup as well - I have Dish LatinoMax and locals and an international package only available on 61.5 (and FSS 118 but not 129). I have no LOS to 129 and FSS 118 is marginal at best. When a friend of mine in the Northeast with the same combination asked Dish to add HD - an installer came out and told him he would have to give up the internationals (not on option), HD, or change to a non Latino package - he opted to keep things as they were without HD for now. I am not sure if Dish will ever add the LatinoMax channels to 77 for EA customers but right now I am not missing anything of value by not having 77 hooked up. If I ever need it, I'll go the 5 sat route and just replace my Dish500hack (61.5/72.7) with a 1000.4 and add the D21s to my DPP44 and be done. I have 3 (soon 4) solo receivers so the wiring is not a big issue.
