110/119 Listings Post 129 Transition (Updated 9/1/2025)

Dish has uplinked the yearly Christmas channels:

78 - Santa's Workshop (119, TP 20)
80 - Past Holiday Dish Scapes (110, TP 21)
88 - Classic Yule Log (110, TP 21)
89 - Modern Yule Log (110, TP 02)

What is interesting about 89 is that it is the only nationally available channel coming off of 110, TP 02...

Channel 209, MSNBC, was renamed to MSNOW, in preparation for the brand change tomorrow. (11/15/2025)

With Cowgirl Channel shutting down, that means 110, TP 19 has an extra slot that could be used for an HD channel

The December 1st uplink had the addition of 79, the Christmas search on 119, TP 21.

Today's uplink had QVC2 move from channel 255 to 74. It did not change transponders.

Also, Smokey's Holiday Soul Town (SXM49), Country Christmas (SXM58), and Christmas Spirit (SXM63) were mapped down. No change in transponders.

Finally, the Cowboy Girls slate from 233 was removed.

Yeah, I don't get them on my VIP211k. I believe they are just Hopper and Wally you can get the streaming channels.

My mistake not reading correctly. He clearly said streaming in HD. Of course VIP receivers do not have streaming channels. I never consider streaming channels since, I don't have them on the receiver....

And maybe that is a good reason that Dish is moving away from VIP receivers as they have more and more streaming channels. Perhaps, someday, they will all be streamers.

On yesterday's uplink, all the Christmas Dish Scapes were removed along with the December free previews.

Something I found interesting is Dish has 4 channels up called "HD Migration Channel." Not sure what these 4 channels are going to be used for - if these are going to be future slates when a channel gets moved to streaming, like we saw with Binge moving from SD on satellite to HD via streaming. Or if there is going to be placeholders for future HD channels. They are up in the 9400's so most people woulnd't see them. I am not sure the general public should be seeing those channels

Previously these channels were the notification moves for 3 Angels Broadcasting, BYU TV, Free Speech TV, and Enlace. But those were moved back on August 7, 2024.
