Just got done with a very confusing "Chat" with a Dish rep online. He said that Dish only supports one receiver per household. They do not have a receiver which will deliver two HD signals.

Can this be true? Are there any Dish customers that have more than one HD TV?

I currently run two standard sets but want eventually to move into two HD sets.

Thoughts?

They don't have a receiver that can output 2 separate hd signals at the same time. If you have a 2nd hdtv you can either get a 2nd hd receiver or run another set of cables from your current hd receiver and both tv's would have to watch the same hd content at the same time.

If you are a new customer you can get a 722 for HDTV1 and a 211 for HDTV2, both can have HDTV now. You can do up to 4 tuners on initial order.

I'm happily running 2 HDTVs from my single ViP622. The box is in the family room hooked via HDMI to my plasma (TV1) and hooked to the LCD in my bedroom (TV2) via 100' component cables.

That being said... as mentioned above, in a setup like this, BOTH TVs must watch the same thing when watching HD content. It is rare that both TVs are on at the same time so it works great for me. I also ran coax to the LCD (TV2) so that in the rare instance my daughter or wife want to watch something on the LCD, they can watch something completely different via the RF modulation (and neither of them really care if it's HD or not).

I love this setup. One box, one set of scheduled/recorded programs, less hardware in the bedroom, etc. I'll probably never leave E*, based soley on this great setup!

I like the one box also

Thanks for the replies to my message.

I am currently running a 625 DVR standard mode and it is a perfect solution since I have kids that like to watch different programing than my wife and I. We can watch and or record two programs simultaniously no problem on two sets.

My goal is to replace the large Sony CRT on the dresser in the bedroom with a nice LCD on the wall. Although I plan to use an HD antenna for bad weather and pure local non compressed programming, the family TV downstairs would then be lower res. (it is also a large non HD Sony CRT).

I know they make a DVR that does what mine does now but with one HD output and one Standard output.

Think it is a matter of time before hardware catches up to demand and you will be able to run two HD's from one box?

Any suggestions about my configuration?

I have a 55" RP LCD connected to the 622 via HDMI in the family room & a 23" LCD connected via 50' of component cable. I also have a small 17" widescreen HD monitor in my sewing room connected to the home distribution coax. I found that setting it to display "full" I get the widescreen picture & it's not bad on that little screen.

If you want to watch two different programs on two HDTV you will need two receivers.

I have two HDTVs and two SDTVs. One HDTV and SDTV is connected to a 722 and the others are connected to a 222.
