So. Cal.
I have a 301 and want to run a 30' composite video cable to another room. What kind of minimum wire specs should I looking for to avoid signal degradation. For 1 video and 2 audios I need at least 6 conductors, unless I can double up on the negative audio signals, making it 5. I want stranded for flexibility but what gauge and configuration? I have seen 18ga, 24ga and 28ga. Ethernet wire is a flexible 8 conductor 24ga stranded cable that could work but is 24ga too small for that distance? Do I need shielding or twisted pairs?

Thanks for your input. Lar

just wanted to point out that ethernet is not stranded. it is 8 solid copper wires wrapped together with a casing (usually not shielded).

That surprises me as ethernet cable is pretty flexibe. Oh well, I guess that eliminates that as a possible cable. Thanks for the heads up.

I guess not all of it is solid core as I just found some that is stranded, CAT 5e. I guess that I got lucky. Thanks for all the input.
