I have a 921 and 3 sats now (Dish 500 for 110 and 119 and a Dish 300 61.5 wing.) I'm going to add another separate dish for 129 since I don't trust the signal strength on the Dish 1000. I just installed one for my neighbor and we can only get 60-70 signal strength on 129. I have 125 on 61.5 and about 101-102 on 110 and 119.

My question is: when I add the third dish for 129, should I swing my 61.5 dish over to 148 instead? They have the same programming, but I have seen discussion around the fact that CBS-W is full HD res whilst CBS-E is HD-Lite. I've also seen mention of better PQ for SHO and HBO. What's your opinion on 61.5 vs. 148?

CBSHD east is or at last report was 1440x 1080i while the west version on 148 is still 1920x1080i
I could tell a world of difference (less artifacts blocking etc) on the west feed before I lost it when I upgraded to the 622 Here is a post that gives some bitrates but no resolutions http://www.satelliteguys.us/bfg/dish-hd.htm from this thread

Here is an old thread discussing CBSHD east downrezzing

The 148 HBO and SHO have higher bitrates than their 110 counterparts.

Thanks for the link to the chart. How did you lose CBSHD West? Because E* wouldn't give it to you after subscribing to a metallic package, or because your 148 dish was re-aimed at 129?

They claimed that authorizing 5 satellites was not in their system originally and when I called later and talked to advanced HD tech they said that was true, plus they said I would have lost it (CBSHD east) soon anyway as I guess they are starting to enforce the regulations set in place by Shivera(I lost all my East D*HD feeds in September).I was on the phone with this guy for 30 minutes while he checked around, total on phone after being transfered from tech to HD Tech about 45 minutes...

While I don't doubt that's what they told you, they authorize channels, not satellites. What's the authorizing 5 satellites mumbo-jumbo about anyway?
