My HDMI port just died on my 622. I've had it since October. Is it even worth it to have it replaced? From what I hear they all die in pretty short order anyway. Suggestions?

Why would you not want it replaced? My 622 HDMI port never had a problem, but my 211's died after 10 months. Dish replaced the whole receiver it without hassle.

Apparently the new 622's now have a better HDMI port that exceeds industry standards. The old ports were a poor design and the internal pins used to break off. Personally, I might wait until external storage were available, so I didn't lose anything that was recorded on the old 622 before replacing it, but that's a personal opinion. In any event when you do get your new 622, you shouldn't experience that problem again.

If it's still in warranty (I assume it is) I'd get it changed out. The digital connection is worth if if you have a digital display.
