I was recording ESNP2HD and wanted to extend the NASCAR race because my favorite driver Ron Fellows won the race.... Hit record to extend the recording. All I got was recording in progress....

You would need to hit the fwd button to extend while the banner is active.

The instructions on how to extend recording should appear on the lower banner when you press record. Try it again as an experiment and notice the instructions on the banner.
