I'm cutting back on some things and might cut the cable co come next year. I'm thinking either dish network or dtv. However since we mostly care about a clear signal on major networks (nbc, cbs, pbs, fox etc) I'm thinking maybe this might be a good idea for a fta system (I know that channels can change and there's no guarantee of what can last and there's no hacking etc)
I'm checking lyngsat but I'm getting a bit confused as to the difference being listed if a channel is ku or c band.
For example look at cnbc.
It's listed as free tv for USA under pass3r
that has it as cband
But then it goes under the atlantic section as yellow (c and ku)
My question basically is can a satellite give off both a ku and a c band signal and what is the most accurate way of telling which a channel is if it's listed yellow for the satellite?
I'm trying to make a more complete list of what can be found in the air but I don't want to make mistakes and make it look like I artifically inflated it.
Thanks for your time
