For me "LOS" has at least two meanings and you get those from the context of how it's used. In one case LOS stands for Line of Sight and has to do with placement of the dish in order to have a clear view of the sky to pick up the satellite signals. The other meaning is Loss of Signal. Loss of signal can be from numerous causes so I won't even try to explain that here.
