Unfortunately, where I live, VOOM will have to serve as a bridge for me until my cable company expands on the 7 HD channels they have. I cannot get any OTA's due to the geography in my area. Since DTV signals are so problematic to start with, I believe it will be necessary for an act of congress to get VOOM anywhere near where they want to be (at least national HD feeds and SD local service).
I love my VOOM, and will keep it for a long, long time, but I wonder if the best thing that could happen for all of us would be VOOM being snapped up by D* or E*. I just believe that most people have VOOM AND cable/other satellite and that will never be a mass market solution (look what happened to D* and E* when they added local service).

BTW- anyone have the list of the 30 markets that D* claims they will launch local into local HD in?
