I've had this happen a couple of times now. I have a timer set to record 30 for 30. Sometimes it shows up on ESPN Classic which I don't have (sports pack only?).

Instead of just not recording though, it starts a recording and takes up a tuner, leaving a blank recording on the DVR. Before I realized what was happening the first time, I got caught in an endless "would you like to subscribe to this press OK" loop where I couldn't even get back to other channels because I'm stuck on ESPN Classic.

I was finally able to mash enough buttons to get it to another channel and break the loop (timing it seems is key) and stop the recording from the tuner menu. But 30 for 30 runs on ESPN Classic constantly now and I end up with the DVR thinking it has recorded an episode (and so skipping other airings) when in fact all it has recorded is an error message.

Any ideas to make this timer work?

It sounds like you set a seek timer up while you had espn classic. Maybe a free preview. Delete the timer and reset it up and hopefully it will forget about espn classic. If it cannot see it, then it cannot record it

did you use 'seek and record'? I would never use that. sorry to say it, but better to search and select your recordings manually.

I actually never realized there's a difference. I think I just found an airing and hit "record series."

I deleted that timer and did a search and selected an airing on ESPNU. Sounds like that will fix it. Thanks all!

Primetime anytime not working.
