Anyone enjoying the World Fishing Channel?

One can hope DISH came to the some kind of agreement with WFN where DISH will throw money at them, if the commit to spending X dollars on HD content over the next Y years. I just don't see why DISH would get the exclusive on WFN-HD for the next year if there was no commitment to vastly improving the HD content on the station.

My little brother fishes FLW and this morning just because I was channel surfing. I put WFN on as there was suppose to be a tournament on. What do I find but a tournament in the UK with guys sitting on platforms on a pond. Was something I would expect to see for five year olds. LMAO, thanks Charlie, brilliant business decision.

Hey it is WORLD Fishing Network. I can't wait for some shows of extreme ice fishing...

The only HD program I have noticed on ABC Family was The 700 Club. Pat Robertson in HD, now THAT'S scarry!

There's plenty to complain about without making up lies.

I have seen ACTUAL HD on...
*Smithsonian and MGM (obviously)
*Travel Channel (been HD every time I've turned it on)
*ABC Family
*Toon Disney (seriously, I did NOT expect that.)
*Tennis
*Biography
*ESPNews (It's completely different stylistically than the SD version, actually.)
*Hallmark Movie Channel ("Blackbeard" is in HD as I write this)
*The Weather Channel (Oddly- they run promos that say "Weather Channel HD...coming in June." But the promos are in beautiful HD, as are the weather graphics. Only the actual people are not...I assume that what they mean is "HD studio cameras...coming in June.)
*Cinemax West

I have NOT seen any on...
*WFN
*5 Star Max (we're told it's a technical issue.
*Bravo (but considering this is a "resurrection" of a channel that already existed, I'm sure they've got SOME HD.)
*Disney Channel (but since Toon Disney actually had HD, I'm sure Disney must too. I just haven't seen it.)

Questionable...
*Cartoon Network...some people have claimed to have seen HD. I've seen some things that LOOKED like HD, but I think it's just a nice, clean stretch. It's hard to tell because cartoons are weirdly proportioned anyway. In any case, the colors are beautiful, and I'm pleasantly surprised by how watchable it is. Even Scooby Doo looked great when "unstretched" at my end.

*CNBC...I've heard they put their extra screen space to good use, but every time I've tuned in, it's just been grey bars with an extra wide ticker.

I was just about to post something like this. And yeah, Disney does have HD mostly cartoons, I would like to see the movies they play in HD though but have not seen any of that yet.

Browsed by it and there were two good old boys reeling 'em in in glorious SD...

There was some glorious, grainy Tarpon fishing going on this morning! It gave me the motivation to walk 10ft to the lake that bumps up against our yard and catch a stringer of Crappies for dinner. Thanks for the inspiration WFN! :love

Strange to note how many people seem to be watching the channel to comment on its content...

I wonder how many more of these channels Dish will have to put up to appease the Canadian government? 1/2 capacity of 2 satellites in exchange for one channel is probably a good deal... But, if they have to put up 20 more HD ones... Curling HD, Maple leaf colors channel, Mounties on Patrol, Just how flat is Manatoba in HD, etc...

Wildfire is in HD though has one or two episodes left before it is cancelled.

Also does anyone think that Dish added the WFN so the Direc TV ad making fun of Dish's HD selection of "having that fishin' channel" would be true?
