Is there any way to transfer an AVI file to an IPOD 30 gig?

You need a convertor...

I use Cucusofts convertor for all kinds of files, including dvd's, to mpeg 4 for ipod. Do a search and you will find their website/pricing.

It works well - Terminator 3 dvd to mpeg 4 -> 688MB and took about 1hour to convert.

+1 on Cucusoft. I use it almost every day to convert stuff. a 43 minute tv show from DVD takes about 25 minutes to convert.

Coincidentally, the last ones I converted were Terminator and T2.
