I'm in Southern Nevada with a Dish 500 dual Pro plus LNB. Signals are weaker than would be expected. Alignment is as good as I can get. I would like to go to a larger dish and need a recommendation for a good 30 or 33" dish and the right equipment for Dish network. Any Ideas???

Low 60s is fine. Dish "re calibrated" signal readings in receivers, trending lower...ie no such thing as 100%
The 60s is good for me on 119W (except for TP1 that gives me a 91). 110W signals are 10-15 points higher.
Signal loss shouldn't happen until you get down around 30.
I have a DISH 500 and a 30" 129W wing dish that I installed using the meter on my ViP622. I'm near the 45th parallel.
I lose signal during viewing time about five or six times a year. The 129W signal doesn't seem to last any longer than the other slots when the sky opens up.
nothing wrong with low 60's. remember it is NOT a percentage, as many people seem to think.

A signal strength of 50 - 75 is about the best you can get on the new simplified DISH meter. IF you add 30 to any reading on any transponder it will be what it used to be on the old meter scale DISH used to use.
Just for kicks I installed a Pro Quad LNB on the dish. Brought the signal levels to mid to upper 80's. May have to drop the DPP twin and go to a DPP44 and standard twin. Open for suggestions.

you cant set the transponders, you can just look at the signals on them. each transponder is going to have a different signal, and may vary wildly. if the SAME transponder has wildly different signals from day to day that may be something to look into.
many times different lnb's on the same dish will provide different signal levels, some lnb's are just "hotter'' than others, seems dish uses different vendors for some lnb styles and that is why the signal difference. I have seen lnb's vary 10 points.
mid to upper 80's is great
If it varies day to day and is a Spotbeam then it could be that you are on the edge of the footprint of a LIL beam. These were much worse on the old 129, which could barely be aimed.

I think I'll go to a quad LNB and drop two 110/119 to the local receiver (15ft away from the dish location) and run the other two to a DPP44 to feed a few other receivers. One dual and two singles.

Agreed on the mid to upper 80's. I'll slap a different LNB on it this weekend and see if it improves from the current high 50's to low 60's. Also is it possible to use a larger dish, say 30" with a Dish Pro quad or DPP Twin?
