Anybody know how they determine who is considered blacked out for games? There was a Dallas/Memphis game on tonight but blacked out in my area, Portland, Oregon.

Dallas (NBA) Mavericks in HD

The Dallas vs Memphis game last night was not done by NBA-TV. HDnet had was responsible for the HD production.

Here's one explanation. I got this from AVSforum. source

Sorry, the HDTV section is listed under "Non-satellite" and my question was satellite related, at least for me.

Sean, I agree with topic starter, The question is about the blackout not about it being in HD.

I don't know why but E* blacks it out to everyone NOT in the Dallas area.
I've heard that on D* its available to all. (can't confirm this)

Ok.

I believe that D* subs are only getting it in Dallas as well. No luck for any E* or D* subscribers outside Dallas.
