Channel locks on Vip622

Can someone confirm my thoughts on how the channel locks work. From what I can tell, if I lock a channel it will not record an event on that channel unless I have unlocked it. So if I'm away from home, any locked channels will not record. Correct?

Do the shows that get recorded on a locked channel remain locked once they are recorded and in the recordings list?

Never tried it, but my understanding is that you have to put in your lock code and the program will record, you will also have to put in your lock code in order to play it back on the dvr.

I guess I'll just have to try it and see, but if this is the way it works it is terrible implementation of this feature.
