Coolsat 4000 pro firmware install and card reader

Hi,
I am trying to down load the software for my coolsat 4000 pro receiver. It seems everything goes well at the beginning: system resetting, and then copy 10%, 20%, and alll the way to 100%. But then it start to erasing, and writing, 10% to 100%. Finally it tells software was detected, the only option I have was to start, when I try to start, it do the same thing over again as described above..
I try to down load card reader software, the same thing happened. My question is,
(1)Do I really need to down load the system software? My satellite system was bought as "Universal", this means the system software is there already? I do not know what to do, the menu did not say anything about software downloading.. Before down loading the software, I can receive some channels already, such as CCTV 4 and CCTV9 at Tel 5. I can only receive 3 free channels at this point--do not have the XTV channel.
(2) After inserting the x-TV card, it took about 2 minutes to initiate the card, and then tells me that the card is invalid..is this a problem related to software? The same problem happened even before I download the card reader software.
(3) The coolsatusa internet tells me that after down loading the system software, the receiver will automatically restart, my receiver has never restarted. It keep telling me software is detected, asking me to start down loading.

Yes you need to load their August 3rd firmware that supports XTV. Just a question but you are using a straight through cable right? What I would do is a database reset then try and loading the new bin file. Also what version of the loader are you using?

I am not sure I understand your question. The card reader is installed in the coolsat 4000 pro receiver, I do not know what you mean straight through cable.
Do you mean to reset the database to factory default? Then what should I do next, I am not sure what is the bin file, is this the .stb file for the firmware and card reader? I have two files from the coolsatusa, one is coolsat4000_120_20050117.stb, the other one is coolsat4000_reader_20050803.stb.
The loader I am using is STBTool v1.5 requested from the dealer.

COOLSAT4000_reader_20050803.zip is the one you want to use to get the 1.3 firmware.

I think this is the one I used. After unzip the file, it became Coolsat4000_reader_20050803.

I just re-read your first sentence. You should be ok. What software version does it detect? The way a Coolsat loads a bin is first it will load up to 100%, then erase, then write. At the end of it your box should reset and it should bring you back to the language selection. Go to your menu and then on the very bottom should be an option for system information. I think the bin is number 130-1 ?? I cant remember but I do know its 130 something. But anyway go to sys info and next to S/W Version it should be 130 something (August 03, 2005) or something very similar.
