i am connecting a amplified antenna to a hopper. i am getting conflicking info online on dc blocker locations.
what location would the dc blocker go if i am using a OTA dish adaptor, antenna amplifier and dc blocker.
some info i've seen says after right antenna and some say between ota and hopper. i i would think it would be between amplifier and OTA dish adaptor.
can someone shed some light on this. thank you for any help you can provide.

Why do you need a DC blocker?
The OTA adapter does not carry any current up to the antenna.
I simply have my adapter that plugs into a USB port on the back of the Hopper, an insertion adapter to send DC voltage up to the pre-amp then the antenna.
The power inserter should not send any DC voltage to the OTA adapter if it is designed correctly.
the pre-amp should be near the antenna to avoid amplifying any spurious RF that might be picked up by the line from the antenna to the pre-amp.

when i bought this antenna which has an powered amplifier, it said if using with dishnetwork hopper receiver and the dish ota adaptor a dc blocker is needed to keep the dish ota and receiver from overheating.this is all new to me.i do know the the OTA does get hot since i have it in my house but i have no amplifier. the house i'm putting this in is a new install for my inlaw. i' trying to get the correct information since i'm only used to old school. Antenna, wire and hook it up to tv(1,2,3) but with the dishnetwork and new electronics i don't want to damage her new components.
