I am getting calls from a number of DIRECTV retailers telling me they are recieving many calls from customers telling them their DIRECTV is not working.

I am at work and my Slingbox is not responding for me to check.

So what's up?

The calls I am getting is people are seeing "Technical Difficulties" screens.

As typing this had a call from a retailer in North Dakota with the same issue. That's been 4 different retailers so far.

DIRECTV Commercial Support says its an outage nationwide... I am just wondering now if it is only happening to commercial accounts.

I went through and checked and it's Fox News (but not Fox Business), CNN (but not HLN), NBCSN, Comedy Central, and Ovation. On the channels that do work there has been a message on the screen about the satellite not updating the channel info for over an hour.

The calls I am getting are from retailers with commercial properties with all channels showing a please stand by message on the screen.

Again sounds like an issue with commercial accounts.

I think it is more than just commercial accounts. I see numerous facebook friends posting about this.

It was like this yesterday on Fox News and CNN.
Other news channels were working.
Directv App is down too.

I'd hate to be a technician today... I gather trouble calls on newly installed systems hit a record high. So much for that bonus...

I'm getting the "your guide hasn't updated in 4 hours" so I reset (red button) and now I have "acquiring guide data. Thanks for your patience." I wasn't sure if it was my system or more widespread. Thanks for the info!
