Dish 811 and Panasonic ES20S DVD Recorder

I have a Panasonic DVR, model DMR-EH50. When taping a program, I want to have the 811 turn it on and off like I used to be able to do with my VCR.

I have tried the Panasonic VCR codes shown in the owners manual. Surpisingly, about half of the Panasonic VCR codes shown in the manual come up as invalid code when testing them on the 811.

Anyone have luck controlling a Panasonic DVR? And what codes worked for you?
