Well guys, after a not so very bright decision to switch from Dish to my local cable provider (Adelphia/Comcast) (Related post http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=89182 ) I eventually managed to speak to an account specialist/CSR at Dish to kindly ask to be able to come back without waiting th six months. He was able to "reset" my account and start me from scratch and even waived the $49.99 fee, will be getting pretty much what I had before, 622 and 625 receivers along with a 211 I already owe, Everything package,HD's,Locals, etc.

My install is to take place on Friday and I asked to have the same subcontractor who initially set me up do the job. The CSR said that he would include that request on the work order and that it should not present a problem but to give my subcontractor a call today and give him my work order as well as new account number so that he could track the work order down and help the process a little bit.

(Any installers on the forum know if this could help??)

Also, I asked for a DP44 switch since I'm planning to upgrade another 2 TV's to HD later this year. Dish CSR said that since the install didn't necessary include a DP 44 switch that he would "split" the cost of the DP44 with me. Fair enough I said and paid my share of $60.00 for said switch.

(installer will be bringing the switch with him on install day as it is requested on the work order)

Finally, I was told that the dish will be a 1000.2 and that it would be requested on the work order as well. Just about everyone that I have asked here in Orlando, FL says that FL is not covered on the 1000 footprint, my previous setup was 2 Dish 500's, one pointing at the 119/110 and another pointing at the 61.5.

Dish says no, it will be a 1000.2 Plus and that they fixed the 1000.2 footprint for FL to work and that I would only need 1 Dish 1000.2 now. (Thanks for the feedback Scott)

I hope I don't run into any colorful situations on install day Friday, but I'll give it a chance, maybe it will all run smoothly although I'm inclined to think that the tech
will show with Dish500's dishes.

Nevertheless glad to be back here at E*....we'll see what happens.

BTW. Anyone from FL here that is running 1000.2 dishes ? Thoughts ?

I think you will get 2 dishes again one pointed at 110/119 and 61.5 It's the only way to go in Florida

Yes, you will need to contact the retailer. If they know their stuff, they should be able to get ahold of a Dishnetwork dispatch office who sees your job in their massive que of all jobs for the area. From there, dispatch can assign it to that retailer. You'll need the install date and if it's an AM or PM job. But after the work order is in your local retailers que, the retailer's subcontractor can show up any time BEFORE that date (assuming they have the equipment and the time).

Edit: Don't be suprised if the work order doesn't actually call for the DP44. CSRs have been known to be... 'incorrect' at times. But best of luck!

YOu could have both if you wanted ,since the port on the dish 1000.2 dish allows another side sat dish for 61.5. Then you could get 110/119/129 and 61.5 . That is what I am going to have come Wednesday or Thursday when the new dish1000.2 gets here.

Install issues. Color me surprised...

622 upgrade
