DISH Fights for a Fair Deal, Tegna Prioritizes Greed above Consumers

These contract disputes are really getting out of hand. Congress and the fcc need to fix this crap. Local station owners are already way over compensated for signals that are allowed to use our public airwaves for free!!!
Yes, Capitalism rears its ugly head again!....We all love it when it helps us, and angers us when it bits us!

Honestly I’d rather have government stay out of it. Government involvement tends to make things in the private sector more expensive.

I really thought we would have had a deal by now considering that November is a Nielsen sweeps month and that there would have been a big outcry in markets that have popular network programming such as Thursday and Sunday Night Football, the World Series and other things like that.

I've been using the free antenna that DISH gave me to still watch my local NBC station and it works fine. This is Us doesn't start until January so the Mrs. isn't missing it. Not being able to record SNL has been a bummer but I'm catching up on what I don't watch live through YouTube. If the dispute goes on, I'll adapt.

Time to see if I can hit DISH up via chat for another $5 discount for the next billing period.

Although I’d rather watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from my “moved” channel of KARE 11 from Minneapolis, since my “moved” city gets two markets, at least I can watch it from KMNF 7 from Mankato, MN. Not ideal, but it works.

I don't think Dish cares that much about OTA guides. Mine have been messed up for years. Often for OTA I need to use a generic timer to record.

Well, the public airwaves AREN'T "free" to the broadcasters, but let's not let facts get in the way of a rant.
Not being able to record SNL
Why can't you record SNL? I can record OTA content on my 612. Can the Hopper not do that (assuming that's what you have)?

I have the antenna going directly into the TV because I don't have an OTA module in my 722k. But that's OK since I'm catching up with what I missed from SNL via YouTube on my Roku.

Dish Network OTA MT2 modules are selling for $40-50 on eBay if anyone's interested.

Works with ViP222, ViP722k and ViP922.
