Dish Network Remote Control Help Needed

I recently purchased a Panasonic PV-DF274 combo TV/DVD/VCR, and I am having problems trying to program my 721 remote to control it. I did a power scan of all the TV codes, and none of them work. I was, however, able to find a VCR code that works and allows me to turn the TV on and off. My question is, is there anyway to 're-map' the VCR button/code to the TV button? My only goal is to be able to use the red 'TV' button to turn the set on and off, and to be able to use the volume control on the 721 remote. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You have found the evil secret involving combo units and universal remote controls. They do not play well with each other. I do not know of any way to re-map any of the device buttons other than AUX on a DISH Network remote. Sorry

Thanks - I was pretty sure I was out of luck, but I thought I would check to see if any techies new any secrets/undocumented features to the Dish remote modes.
