Dish Receiver Control DVD Recorder?

I've been thinking of purchasing a Panasonic E80 DVD recorder with hard drive for recording satellite and OTA from my Dish 811 receiver. (The E80 is available for about $500 now.)

Any issues with this? I'd anticpate that the Dish 811 receiver could send a IR blast to the Panasonic recorder to record.

I have the E80 and 6000 and I just set timer on 6000 and timer on E80 to come on at the same time and off at the same time and it works good.My 6000 will crash sometimes when I try to set the timer on it though.The E80 is very simple to set the timer on,easier than the 6000.

Have you ever tried to turn on the e80 with the 6000, like you can turn on a VCR to record Dish programs?
