I recently repaced my Dish500 with a Dish1000 as I will be receiving a 622 soon.

I have two receivers currently, a 522 and a 301. They were working fine before the install. Now the 522 is working correctly and can see all three satellites (110, 119, 129) however the 301 only sees 129 and hence only displays the "What's on Dish1000" channel.

I guess my question is, do I need to install a switch in this instance? If so, which one?

I have the two left outputs on the dual LNB (110, 119) running to the 522. The other LNB (129) is connected to the right output on the dual LNB with 5.5ft of RG6 and the 301 is connected to the other output of the 129 LNB.

I didn't know if hooking the two LNB's together would allow my 301 to access the Dual LNB (110, 119)...it's not appearing that way. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the 622 getting here and I'm pretty sure it's going to work since the 522 can see all three satellites, however I wish I could get the 301 working becase I'm afraid that when the 622 arrives my wife will kick me out to the garage so she can watch Desperate Housewives in HD... Thanks in advance.

You need to hook 1 of the lines going to your 522 to your 301

Take the other line to your 522 & add a DPP seperator, then run both of those lines to your 522.

The 110/119 LNB on a dish 1000 is a DPP lnb, which means it has 2 outputs & 1 input on the lnb.
The input is for a third sat. which in your case is 129.

The line runing from the single lnb to your 301 is only carrying the signal from the 129 sat.

See page 4 & 5 of this instalation diagram
