Long story short I have an active 501 receiver on a dish 500 sys. Also an inactive 310. Called dish to try for upgrade to HD. After much ado they offered me (2) VIP622 receivers + new 1000 sys installed- no shipping chgs-and I do not have to trade in my 501 &
310 unless I want to in which case I will receive $100 programming credit. Total chg was $299 per receiver. Not sure if this is a good deal or not but I took em' up on it. Screwed, blued,& tatooed by D again or fair deal. Let me know please.
One last thing regarding the 1000 setup. Im told I will need it and I could pick which of the 1000,s I wanted. I really dont know what the difference is
between them. Any suggestions on what the best choice woud be?

Sounds like the standard deal others are getting, tho' some are reporting an additional $99 for the D1000 install. There is the standard D1000 (110, 119, 129 sats.) and the emerging D1000+ that adds the 118.7 sat. Talk in these threads is that most (all?) of the HD programming will migrate to 118.7 by fall. I can't tell you any more about that - look in these threads for D1000+ to learn more...

NOt National hd channels only some dmas will be added at 118.7 and some international channels. For now , unless they change their minds again , they will keep the national hd on the 61.5 and 129 and 110 sats.
