I hate to call Dish as I'm afraid of getting the wrong information.

When the furor dies down, I would go with a 622 with one of the metal packages. I have no HDTV at this time, so this would be a considerable investment and I have to be certain I can make this work first. The problem being that I have a LOT of trees.

I have a Dish 500 with a legacy quad. The dish is on a pole in the yard as a roof mount would not work. 721 and 2700 receivers. I would most likely replace both receivers with the 622.

I've been looking for aiming coordinates (not the right terminology, I know) for the Dish 1000 to know if I have a chance of making this work.

Locals OTA is out of the question. Reception is horrible. Fringe area, trees, hills, etc.

So, to recap;

1) Do I need a Dish 1000, or what do I need?

2) If yes, in what compass direction do I need it pointed. Detroit area.

3) What else am I overlooking?
