Just wondering...

Do any of the big wigs(those that are in a position to make a difference) at E* monitor these boards. Do they have any clue whats going on with their customers? The wants, the needs, the likes, the dislikes, the concerns, the ramifications of crappy decision making? Do they have any clue about anything other than ways at increasing their bottom line?

I find it hard to believe the answer would be NO! Which brings me to my next point. If they did have someone utilizing any information that could be obtained simply by browsing these boards, then why wouldn't they make an effort to better themselves?

They could literally hire one person full time to do nothing but monitor these boards, and actually use the info for some good. They'd be so far ahead in the game it wouldn't even be funny.

Customers are fickle. I'd say there are more retailers around than customers, but at any rate reverse the situation. You're concerned about customer service, E* is concerned about the "bottom line" as you put it. If that's the case, you need to give them reasons, from THEIR point of view, not yours, why the bottom line is largely affected by an issue. Opinion doesn't get very far in business. Numbers, especially those directly affecting company income do.

External 622 hard drives, while it would please a few thousand people, doesn't bring in the same amount of money a new channel or new receiver would. Same goes for likes and dislikes. Ramifications are based on perspective of an individual, so that's not something you could influence.

That said, your post doesn't mention any issues at all, so if E* was watching, they wouldn't get much out of your post.

Ever had to run a "services" company that deals with millions of subscribers, billions in inventory and all the budgetary and financial requirements of that kind of business?

If you were providing dial-up service to 100 neighbors out of your garage you might be able to respond to issues as quickly as we want them to respond to us but an organism the size of Echostar is so complex and confusing it requires a large amount of effort to keep it from crushing itself.

They are well aware of the issues we discuss here in the forum. Putting it into the system for discussion, duplication, risk assesment, correction feasibility study, planning, budgeting, programming, funding, piloting, testing, retesting, debugging, funding, redirecting, refunding, scheduling, implementing, and follow-up is an enormous creature at their level.
