Merry Christmas to me - Is Panasonic DMR-EH-50S for me?

My father wants to buy me a DVR recorder with hard drive, and I would like your help to decide if the Panasonic DMR-EH-50S is the best one for me. I see it at Circuit City for $349 right now.

I have a Dish Network 811 High Definition receiver and would be recording both 16:9 programming and 4:3 programming. I realize that the 16:9 programming would not be in high definition, but I would like it to fill my screen (Samsung 50" DLP television).

I may also copy a few VHS tapes over, but that is not a big thing I would guess.

Should I pull the plug on the Panasonic EH-50S at Circuit City or is there something else I should consider?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

I have a 811 hooked up to a Pioneer DVR-210. It works great except I don't like how 16:9 programs look on it. I wish it would send 16:9 programs the way the are supposed to be on S-Video on the 811.
