EchoStar 6.0 IR/UHF PRO remote control

This remote is for TV 2 on Dish Network system. It works fine except for the fact that it eats the AAA batteries way fast. Lucky to get a month out of them while I haven't had to change the ones in the living room (TV 1) in I don't know how long.
Has anyone heard of a remote that works fine except for going through batteries like crazy? Are there any contacts that could be cleaned etc.?

It's a known issue with some of the remotes from Dish. Try giving customer service a call to see if they can ship out a free replacement.

I have 3 6.0 remotes, 2 of which have been in daily service (UHF mode) since last December. I don't remember changing their batteries even once!

Thanks for the replies. I'll give them a call and see if they admit that there are some flakey remotes out there!
