EchoStar Communications Corp. said Wednesday that DISH Network satellite television customers in San Antonio will now starting receiving local TV stations in high definition.
Englewood, Colo.-based EchoStar (NASDAQ: DISH - News) also is making high-definition channels available to customers in Dallas; Houston; Miami; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Sacramento; San Diego; San Francisco; Seattle; and Spokane, Wash.
The company now offers local HD channels to customers in 24 cities. EchoStar is offering its entire DishHD line up and more than 70 standard definition channels for $49.99 a month. Local channels will be added for $5 a month.

DISH Network plans to launch high-definition local channels through its satellite service in additional cities until it reaches more than 50 percent of all U.S. households by year's end.

EchoStar serves more than 12 million satellite TV customers nationwide.

Hi can anyone please tell me what channels these are?

I see only two locals in HD: CBS and FOX

They are like 6427 and 6429.

Shouldn't there be a lot more than just two>?????

can anyone help????

Currently, Fox and CBS are the only two locals in HD for San Antonio. ABC and NBC have not signed the HD agreement yet. Once they do, the channels we be uploaded immediately

The correct term is "uplinked," not "uploaded." Plus, the ABC and NBC affiliate are already uplinked.
