I am an existing sub with the Classic Gold 250 pak and the Gold HD add on.

I have four owned receivers, 1 x 211k and 3 x 311 with the 211k and one of the 311s connected to the phone line.

If I lease a 612k to "replace" one of my 311s what ADDITIONAL fees will I see on my bill?

I realize the "additional" receiver fee of $5.00 for the 311 will be gone and be replaced by the "lease" fee of $7.00, but what are the other fees? DVR?

$5.98 DVR fee unless you switch to the DVR Advantage plan.

DVR Advantage only covers the DVR fee on the first DVR. I have a move scheduled for the 18th and part of it will be upgrading my old 508PVR to a 612 for the bedroom (622 remains in the living room). The 508 was grandfathered out of any DVR fees. So on the 18th I'll get the 612, my "additional receiver" fee goes up from $5 to $7 (they're telling me that's because the 508 is SD and the 612 is HD) and then I'll also have to pay the $5.98 DVR fee on the 612.

My bill goes up about $8 total.

I have DVR Advantage, AT250, Gold HD.

They're going to give me a $10 credit for giving them the 508 (owned)

Sorry; I think cparker and the OP are right on the $5.98 fee. I corrected my post above. My plan is the DVR Advantage plan and my extra receivers (all HD DVRs) cost $12 each, so that's why I made that mistake. My bill claims I saved 98 cents on the DVR Advantage line item, and on the HD Duo line it says I saved $5 more. The $12 line items are no longer broken out into the DVR and additional receiver or lease fees.

Note that the DVR Advantage plan also comes with locals. My bill says:

  1. DishDVR Advantage Classic Silver 200 - You Saved $0.98! $57.99
  2. Classic Gold 250 $10.00
  3. GoldHD $10.00
  4. Duo Receiver - (You Saved $5 With DishDVR Advantage!) $0.00
  5. HD DuoDVR Receiver $12.00
  6. DVR Receiver $12.00
I have an owned 722 and two leased 612s. And the deal I got on the 612's Dishn' It Up through the ceo address was I kept my owned SD receivers (which I recently sold on Amazon) and got the two 612's for $25/ea shipped for a new 2 yr commitment.

To add an additional HD DVR you your account its $12 that includes DVR,and the extra receiver Fee.
If you have Americas everything pack the Fee is only $7 for additional HD DVR. I would skip out on the Vip612, and go right for the 722. Just my opinion.
It adds another SD room for the same monthly fee,as well has a larger Hard drive, more VOD,and More Interactive features.
Plus the Vip 612 is Buggy, I've had 3 different ones with the exact same issues. "Dropouts during DVR playback,or while scrolling through the guide, causes similar smaller dropouts." My 622 and 722,s have not had these issues" My 622 is over 2 years old.
If you go through with the 612, just be aware of these issues.

Well, I shall see what the CSR roulette game does tonight. I need to replace two 311s and a single 301, while retaining my ViP211.

So it looks like:

ViP211k (owned)
ViP722k new lease (replaces 2 x 311)
ViP211k new lease (replaces the 301)

Adding two new leases at $7 each
Adding one new DVR fee at $5.98 (or possibly $12 total with the 722 lease fee)
Total "add" fees = $19.98

Removing 3 x $5 additional receiver fee
Total removal = $15.00

Total monthly increase = $4.98 on my Classic Gold 250, plus Gold HD plus Locals

Still have four TVs attached, 3 x HD and 1 x SD (via 722 coax backfeed)

Look right?

Hemi -> Thanks for the heads up on the ViP612!!!

Its going to be $14 in fees for a 211 and a 722,(or a 612 instead of the 722) with a DVR Atvantage pack. Your First DVR fee gets waived and since you only have 1 DVR as it is ,You'll only have to pay 2 $7 lease fees. So just make sure you have the DVR atvantage Pack.

612 vs 722

Agree on the disk size issue. I never tried PIP and it won't work in dual mode, so I don't miss it.

On bugginess, my experience has been approximately equal between my 722 and my 612's. Dropouts... Fooey! The worst bug I've seen tickled on either receiver was the same. I go into a folder, edit the contents, check most of the checkboxes where there are around 100 programs to check, and hit the delete button. Both my 722 and 612 have gone berserk and deleted almost everything, including programs in other folders I never checked, before crashing. I'm pretty sure that they would have deleted every last program had they not crashed first. This event on the 722 was a far worse disaster because I had more programs recorded and important to more people than on my 612.

On the 612 plus side, you have the "single tuner" count. If you eventually want to go HD on all 4 of your receivers, then you want a 612 and not a 722.

He already owns some of his equipment He can still lease more HD equipment if needed. 4 vip 612's would cost $21-$36 in fee's alone per month. He only wants 3 rooms HD. If he got a 612, He would still have to lease another 612 if he wanted 4 rooms HD, I would just Buy another 211 before I paid $36 per month in lease fees,on the crappy 612.
