My house has 2 vip 622s (my folks live with us) and the Dish SD-DVR. I am going to purchase (since I can't get it leased) a new 622.

I have 2 questions; will my bill go up when I activate the new box

Where is the best place/price to purchase? Not too sure about getting one on eBay...

Thanks, as always!

It'll go up by the mirror fee ($6/mo).

Mine changed by $1 when I swapped a 721 for an owned ViP-622.

Don't forget the other $6 DVR fee, if you don't have the "Everything" pack.

I have bought numerous receiver from ebay, make sure it is listed as new or used, make sure the user has massive good bid history, over 50, ask for the R# before purchase and call dish and make sure it would be okay to activate.

I bought 2 622's and 2 or 3 211's all have been new

My neighbor got a new 622 for $320 new with free shipping on ebay.

Also Claude at Dishstore.net is good to buy from

Thanks, Sprintcarcrazy! I will look into that (specifically, Claude)

Is that your only receiver? (Avoiding additional receiver fee)

I'm trying to figure out how giving up an owned 721 could result in only a $1 change.

yep, HD receivers cost $1 more for the extra receiver fee than SD receivers.

I have a 622 (leased) and a 211 (own) with the Dish DVR Advantage package with HD. I pay $49.99 for the Advantage package, $20 for the HD package, and a $6 lease fee.

I called because I was thinking of leasing another 622 and was told that my bill would only increase $6 (lease fee). Does this sound right?
