The front panel display only has 9 dashes and there is no Signal Quality.
Activate the preprogrammed channel list. See Installation guide page 22.
  • Press Menu key
  • Highlight Factory Reset
  • Press OK key
  • When the Factory Reset window opens enter 2020
  • When prompted with "Do you want to load special data?" highlight YES
  • Press OK key
  • The receiver will reset to Channel 1, Daystar TV
  • Preprogrammed channels are now activated

Receiving channels from only one satellite with Dual LNBF Clamp installed.

Trouble shoot for incorrect aiming or bad equipment.
  • Was the dish checked for damage or if warped during shipping? pages 13 - 14
  • Is the LNBF clamp SKEW set correctly? Go to www.GeoSatFinder.com, enter your and confirm and/or correct the setting. pages 16 -17
  1. Connect coax directly from the receiver "Digital LNB IN" to LNBF #1, bypassing the switch.
  2. Place receiver on 3ABN channel. Press the SIG key on the remote to display the Signal Level and Quality meters. Is this channel coming in? If so, LNBF is good and the dish aiming is correct. Move to next step. If the Signal Level is less than 20%, replace the LNBF. If the signal level is above 45%, place the receiver on TBN channel. Is this channel coming in? If so, the dish is not properly aimed and the dish is aimed towards the wrong satellite.
  3. Move the coax cable from LNBF #1 to LNBF #2.
  4. Place receiver on TBN. Is the channel coming in? If so, LNBF is good and the aiming is correct. If 3ABN was coming in when connected to LNBF #1 and TBN was coming in when connected to LNBF #2 then the aiming is correct, the LNBFs are both good, but the switch may be bad. Turn off the Master Power Switch on the rear of the receiver. Connect the coax cable from the receiver to the output of the switch, LNBF #1 to the switch port #1 and LNBF #2 to the switch port #2. Turn on the receiver. Are TBN and 3ABN channels coming in? If not, reactivate the preprogrammed channel list. If both satellite still do not come in after performing a reset, replace the switch. Important Notice: Make sure that the Master Power Switch is always off before connecting or disconnecting any switch!

Channels from both satellites are coming in, but weaker channels like the Miracle Channel or CNL are very breaking up or displaying no signal.

Misaligned dish, warped dish, LNBFs are not properly aligned. pages 13, 14, 16, 17
  1. Place the receiver on the TBN channel.
  2. Press the SIG key on the remote to display the Signal Level and Quality meters. Is the level at or above 70%? If no, dish or the LNBF clamp SKEW setting needs adjustment.
  3. If TBN is coming in at 70% or better, place the receiver on The Miracle Channel. Is the Signal Quality below 55%? If yes, the dish or LNBF clamp SKEW setting needs adjustment. Please also see Installation Guide page 27 for advanced fine tuning techniques.

Remote Control not working

Dead batteries, improper operation or pointing, equipment malfunction.
  • Does the remote control power key red light come on when any key is pressed? If no, change the batteries. If the power key still does not light, contact technical support to report a possible remote failure.
  • Press the STB (Set Top Box) key to have the universal remote operate the satellite receiver. Does the power key light up when the STB button is pressed? If yes, the remote is working.
  • Press the Channel Up key. Does the receiver change channels? If no, the STB key might have been reprogrammed.
  • Press and hold the STB and OK keys at the same time for 5 seconds until the power key stays lighted. Enter 003 then press the STB key to reprogram the Mercury II satellite receiver remote code. Does the Channel Up key change channels when pointed at the receiver? If no, the remote probably needs to be replaced.
What is the Signal Level reading when a good LNBF is connected?
The Signal Level reading is approximately 45 - 50% when a good LNBF is connected to the "Digital LNB In" and 0% if the LNBF is dead or the coax is disconnected.

What is the minimum Signal Quality reading to provide reliable reception?
Ideally the Signal Quality should be 50% or better. The receiver will play channels with lower Signal Quality, but if the signal Quality falls below 40% the channels will be lost during poor weather conditions.

Remote doesn’t work but receiver front panel buttons may turn on/off and change channels.
Press The STB button on the remote to control the Set Top Box. Check batteries, remote needs a clear line of sight to the receiver. Reset Master Power switch on rear of the receiver.

No lights on receiver.
Check power plug make sure that it is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Reset Master Power switch.

Receiver displays 40 -50% Signal Level, but no Quality on all channels. The dish might be pointed at the wrong satellite or there is an obstruction in the line of sight between the dish and the satellite. Mounting mast may have moved or is loose. Reset Master Power switch.

Meters display 0% signal level and no quality.
Coax not connected from LNBF on dish to DIGITAL LNB INPUT on receiver. Dish not properly aimed. Bad coax, connectors or LNBF failure.

Picture breaks up into big blocks and the audio is garbled.
The dish might not be aimed correctly. Satellite view partially obstructed. Damaged coax or connections.

Satellite receiver has a channel number on front panel, but TV displays snow. Tune TV to channel 3 /4 or the AV input if using the RCA AV cables.

Local or cable TV channels are fuzzy and channel number is displayed on front panel.
Turn off the satellite receiver when watching local or cable channels.

No audio on any satellite channels.
Set satellite remote control audio up to 75% and use the TV volume control to adjust volume.

Picture breaks up during rain and snow.
Heavy rain or clouds may affect the strength of the satellite signal. A properly installed dish will rarely lose signal during extreme weather. Snow or ice build up can interfere with the satellite signal. Mount the dish where snow can be gently brushed off. Dish covers and heaters are available for locations with regular ice and snow accumulations.

Satellite receiver displays “No Signal” only during very hot or cold weather. LNBF is aging or is affected by temperature extremes. Replace the LNBF.

I only receive either the TV or the Radio Channels. How do I switch between these services?
Press the TV/Radio button on the lower left corner of the remote control. This button toggles between the TV and Radio services available.

Are more channels available?
Many more channels are available for viewing on this and other satellites. This receiver is capable of automatically programming these additional TV and Radio services. Many free national and international services are available. Do this at your own risk, as Glorystar will only provide the warranty free technical support for the reception of the Glorystar programming.

Scanning the Satellite for Additional Channels (optional)
  • Press MENU on the remote, verify that the receiver is in the Installation Menu. If not, VOL/RIGHT arrow to enter the Installation Menu.
  • Select Power Scan and press OK.
  • Select Satellite AMC4 or Galaxy25 (IA5)
  • Highlight Mode and change setting to Scan FTA
  • Highlight Start Scan press the OK to begin satellite scan. This process will take approximately 10 minutes
  • After the Scanning is complete, select YES to save the found channels
  • Press EXIT on the remote to begin viewing channels.
Do not call to activate programming; all channels are free to air and available with no monthly charge. The receiver assigns channel numbers while scanning; therefore, no uniform channel line-up will be available after performing a scan for channels. The receiver can always be returned to the preprogrammed Glorystar channel list and menu settings by performing a Factory Reset using code 2020. see Installation Guide page 22
