Fed up with DishNetworks delays

Am I the only one who ordered thier 811 and SuperDISH back in November of 03 and have already been charged for the 811 and have not received any of the two yet. I ordered back in November of 03 and was told it would be installed Dec 29 of 03, then they called and said its been delayed until Feb 22, 04. Today they call and say its been delayed until March 14. What is the freaking PROBLEM!? Dish should either deliver my product or give me my money back! I have paid for equipment I have not recieved. And they give me no reasons as to why it keeps being delayed. Come March 14 I bet there will be another delay! Charlie if your listening WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!?! tell me something dont just keep delaying my install with no explanation after I have already lined your pockets with my hard earned cash! Does anybody know the deal here???

OK, maybe it's just me, but I really don't understand why people continue to do business with E* when they pull stuff like this. Bad enough that they continue to cancel/reschedule but also hold onto your money for product that they can't provide su*ks.

I tolerated it because it was the cheapest solution available to me at the time to get a HD satellite receiver and HD OTA receiver. I could have paid more and got it NOW, perhaps with less bugs or not, but I chose the less expensive route. My past experience has been DISH will eventually get it worked out. I waited 7 weeks for my 811... no, I did not like the wait, but I always could have cancelled my order, spent more money, and have it now...

I would send Dish a disconection notice. Then follow through with it. They would do it to you.

I cancel my order for the 811 after many delays and ask them to credit my
MC back for the amount. When I got my MC bill they hadn't. I found out
that they had just credited my E* account for the amount. I finally got it
straight and they credited my MC for the amount. When my year subcription
is up in April I am leaving and going to D* and the HD tivo.

Maybe the Superdish is what's holding up your order. A coworker ordered his 811 in December and had 3 delays but he finally got it 2 weeks ago.

Can you say Beta Testers.

All the 811 and 921 sold to date were just part of there Production Beta test program. Start in March they plan for the main roll out of both products with Large amounts avl ordering through Dishnetwork AND through retailers.

Only a few more weeks to wait for the big factory orders to start.

Also, isn't the HD Tivo gonna run around $1000 (like the 921) to get one?

Paying for a receiver you don't have to use is not the cheapest solution around, it is the most expensive one around. You have given your money away for nothing in return. Ask for a refund to your credit card now and contact the credit card company if not posted to your account within 72 hours. I don't believe Dish considers you a sucker, they just don't care about you and have forgotten you exist. 811's are in short supply but not impossible. Everytime I stop in my dealer, I see he has 811's, 3-4 cartons sitting in the showroom waiting for his installers to pick them up for that day's install jobs.

Well I e-mailed the CEO address last Tuesday and told them I was going reconsider how I spend my television dollar and on Wed. I got a phone call and they said I would be scheduled for installation on Saturday. My installer showed up yesterday and installed everything and I went and bought my TV yesterday hopefully this afternoon I will be enjoyng HD!!! I was on the list for about three weeks and thought "what the hell" and sent the e-mail, not really expecting much. I was very suprised.

Also, I asked my installer about his inventory (I live right outside of Memphis, TN) he said that he had receivers but the other hardware, switches and things like that he was running short on.

Check out VOOM for HDTV, i gave up dish<i had to when they moved the programming from 61.5..VOOM was disapponting at first (for a few months) we were beta testers,but now they can't be beat for price,content,and they will be adding on..they have to for business sake

I have a standalone tivo I use now. and can't do without it. Course it's not
HD. I am tivo spoiled. I guess it's the main reason I am looking at D*.

Keep in mind that the HD TIVO will NOT have firewire out if you are interested in archiving HD. I get decent results downrezzing my 6000 and recording SD on my JVC 30K and I watch it on a 110" diagonal screen. If you have an RPTV, the picture would be outstanding.

Well, I got fed up with waiting for the 811 and used the ceo@ecostar.com email address and expressed my displeasure. I explained how other pay tv services (cable) could have me watching HDTV before the weekend.

That was Monday... Tuesday the phone rang and I was schedulled for this Saturday for an 811 install.

I guess "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" method can work. Too bad it has to be that way sometimes!

I followed Chuck's lead and also wrote to ceo@echostar.com stating my displeasure on not getting my 811 yet (5 weeks and counting). The local HH Gregg electronic stores in Dayton, OH have over 50 in stock! I'll see if this prompts any action from Dish.

Update: CJ from the executive office called me back within 30 minutes of sending my email and is working to get my 811 installed ASAP at the $149 price! I guess the squeaky wheel does get greased as Chuck mentioned earlier!

Another Update: CJ called back and the installation is scheduled fro this Saturday. He is also overnighting me a quad LNB because the local installer does not have one and I want to add the 811 as a third receiver. This is pretty good service al beit 5 weeks late. Guess I should have complained earlier.

Glad it's working out for you, too! I wish I could take credit for the idea but I can't Another guy gave the tip to do it. I am still disappointed that Dish is doing business like this (the loudest yellers get served first).
