Finding satellite

I have a Dish 1000 & vip622. While watching tv1 my wife went to the other room to watch something else on the sd tv2. It could not find the satellite. I called Dish and the problem was cured with a "soft reboot." I am just curious: how can tv 1 be working fine while tv2 cannot see the satelite?

Electronics are a strange thing, especially when there may have been a power fluctuation and then the software program gets corrupt on various parts of them system. But also, the ViP 622 is like to 2 receivers that share some of the same parts.

Think of these rxs like a computer because they basically are. Sometimes the best thing to do is reboot the system. In fact it is usually the first thing to do.

It may be one unit, but it is still two tuners. Probably caused by a problem with the second tuner.
