Currently on AT 200 and was thinking of changing my programming.

Was wondering if you are in an existing contract will the Flex Pack count towards your fullfillment of your contract.

I know the AT packages will qualify to go on your contract status.

I was also wondering if the 540 4K channels are on the Flex pack.?

I have to Sept 2019 to fullfill my commitment.

I don't know what kind of contract you're on. I'm on the Preferred Customer Offer and here is what it says about changing to a different package.

"DISH's 2-Year TV Price Guarantee applies solely to your Price Guarantee Programming Package and the Discounted Eligible Equipment in connection with the programming that you selected upon your acceptance of this offer by checking the “I accept” box below. In the event that you change your Price Guarantee Programming Package or Discounted Eligible Equipment to any other programming package (including, without limitation, another programming package that qualifies for DISH's 2-Year TV Price Guarantee promotion) or equipment following the date you accepted this offer by checking the “I accept” box below, then you will pay the then-current price of such other programming package or equipment."

It absolutely counts towards your agreement.

You can only decide if it's the right choice for your needs.

I don't enjoy paying $60+ a month for reruns, junk, etc. The ONLY reason I keep Dish in the first place is for my Sports.

Flex allows you to add/subtract packs at will without penalty (with the exception of Latino & Sirius).

So in a months time I might add the National Sports pack several times and my prorated charge usually adds up to $5-7.

Base $34.99
PRORATED National pack est. $5
*Additional receiver fee $7
GRAND TOTAL $47

COMPARED TO:
Top 120+ $67.99
(minus $15 longevity credit)=$52.99
Add Heartland pack (Hallmark) $3 promo
*Additional teciever fee $7
GRAND TOTAL $63

Big difference right there AT LEAST to me.
The Flex doesn't have all channels available to add so if your looking to "have it all" your better off with what you have.

Happy flex sub here. I can tell you that I haven't had access to any 540 programming. I get my 4K fix from EPIX on demand in the movie pack and my wife gets Hallmark access as well thru movie pack. Money saving fit for us.

I thought you could change around core packages during price lock. I think I’ve done it before and the chat rep said I could the other day. They just said to keep it 30 days to avoid change fees. I was thinking about going to 250 from 200

It's worth it if it gives you the channels you want in the base pack and the channels you want to add in as needed. It doesn't cover every channel DISH offers so it isn't for everyone. For me, it works for what I like to watch.

I would like DISH to add more packs with different options but I'm not holding my breath on that.

I used to have AEP but kept downgrading over the years as the prices have went up now I have Flex which is about as much as what AEP was back in the day when I had it by the time you count all the extra fees that’s more than the package. Next step will be not to have satellite can’t drop any further unless I do away with Hoppers.

Do you need the Hopper? Could you watch your SPORTS on a Wally just as well?
