Giambi admits he took steroids

You're absolutely right. When baseball was in dire straits because of loss of fans due to the strikes. They turned a blind eye toward steroid use as the home run race brought fans back to the seats. Now that the fans are back, they attack the players that did their bidding. Pure utter hypocrisy!

MLB....the F**KING hypocrisy continues!!! They more or less turned a blind eye on steriods because that was putting asses in seats and now there is rumors they MIGHT void out the remaining contract of Jason Giambi.....

Jason Giambi might lose his spot on the the Yankees' roster if it's determined he used performance-enhancing drugs, according to a published report.

Citing unnamed sources, The New York Daily News reported Sunday that the Yankees will consider voiding Giambi's contract if it's determined he used steroids after they signed Giambi as a free agent in 2001.

Major League Baseball intends to investigate reported remarks by Giambi that the sport should apologize for use of performance-enhancing drugs and the Yankees star's comment that he was "wrong for doing that stuff."

According to The Daily News, what Giambi says in his expected meeting with Major League Baseball will likely determine whether the Yankees decide to try to get out of what's remaining of the seven-year, $120 million contract they gave Giambi in 2001.

Well that would be a start, but I think he should also return every penny he made from the Yankees since it was done fraudulently. And then the MLB should set an example by banning him and ruling every Yankee victory a loss for the record books for every game he has participated in.

What about the Oakland wins?

Your TOTALLY MISSING the point. MLB WAS INVOLVED by looking the other way because AFTER the strike...they would have done just about ANYTHING to get people back in the stands....again, it's a case of 'I want to eat steak, but don't tell me how the cow is killed...'....so WHY should he return every penny?

Exactly. It's like letting the dog chase the cat, then beating the dog when he catches it.

Individual stats is one thing but team stats are other. It takes 9 playerson the field to play a baseball game.

Come on Sean, you know MLB's ONLY stats is $$$$$$$$. They knew full well what was going on....they CHOSE to look the other way because it was 'in the best interest of baseball'. They KNEW that fans would forget about the strike/lockout(whatever it was, it really doesn't matter 'cause there was no World Series) because of the 'wonderful, feel-good story of the homerun chase by these amazing athletes'. Well a few deaths later and the 'singing like canary' Jose Canseco threw a monkey wrench into the whole plans of keeping it hush hush. And then the dog-n-pony show infront of government...the OTHER HYPOCRITES...I suspect EVERY SINGLE PLAYER took performance enhancing drugs on that panel of players...INCLUDING Mr. Goody-Two Shoes, Curt Schilling.

Greed has destoyed the greatest game there is.....I will NEVER blame the players because in the end, they have an agent that will get their client the best deal they can....owners will go out of the way to pinch every dollar to the penny, then have the brass balls to cry "poverty" to ANYONE that will listen. And ALWAYS remember, baseball has not be run by those that think of THE GAME FIRST and profits 2nd for almost 10 years now....if not more.

I wonder if NY would want out if Giambi was having a monster season instead of a bad season? Giambi admitted to this offense 3 yrs. ago, what is the big problem now?

Another Bengal arrested

Should Blazers trade Fat Zach now?
