what is the difference between DVI and HDMI? My TV does DVI and DTV H20 has HDMI, I found a cord to convert from one to the other.

diff between two

DVI only sends video to the TV and HDMI Sends both video and audio on the same cable.

DVI is 10 bit and HDMI is 12 bit.

12 bit is that both audio and video?? Because I thought that DVI the video needs no conversion to HDMI. So the 2 extra bits are for audio??

I have a DirecTV H20 w/ HDMI and a Samsung HDTV w/ DVI. I was looking around and found a cable that goes from HDMI to DVI, I just wondered if there was anything else I should do.

I guess when the cable gets here, I will try it and see what happens. From what DTV was telling me the cable and hooking the audio as normal would be all I needed to do.
