I'm replacing a hopper 3 with a VIP 211 k, do I have to remove the solo hub?

Most likely. Just take it out of the mix and connect the coax from the satellite receiver to the satellite dish coax where the switch separates them. Might need a coax connector to do that if you have one.

Technically it will work with the hub but what may cause issues is the dish hyprid lnb as a 211 uses dish pro plus lnbs. I've been to service calls were they had one on a hybrid with no issues though but also to another that was having issues. But most likely you can just pop in the 211
