Does the Dish YouTube app support 4K, and HDR?
I have done a lot of testing, and as an example, when using the Prime app or the Netflix App, my Hopper automatically switches to 4K output. When using the YouTube app, even videos that are 4K HDR will only play in 1080 60i output from the Hopper. There is no way to support 2160P.

Not a huge deal since the native app on my Samsung TV will work.
FYI, when using the Joey 4s, 4K works. This may be due to the Joey always outputting 4K when using "Input Signal Plus" (HDR enhanced) on the TVs.

Just wondering if there is a solve for this.

Cough, ROKU, Cough!
Not sure how this is related. I do have the native Roku app on my TV. I do have it both native on my Hisense 75U7K, and also instlled on my Joey 4.

The question is about getting 4K content on the Hopper 3 YouTube app since the TV defaults to 1080i 60, the YouTube app does not even give 4K 2160p as an option.

STBs tend to give better PQ and AQ and are generally faster than apps built in to satellite boxes or built in to TVs.

I've got apps built in to my Sony TV, Roku TV, various disc players and my H3. Easy to compare. My Rokus and Fire sticks beat the others hands down.
