Call in an expert to put up a 1000.2 so you can get all your channels. A D500 won't cut it.

What about a Wally?... Could I use the Dish 500?...I am on a limited budget and the Dish 1000.2, are so expensive!

I think your Duo or a Wally will work sorta/kinda on a D500, but if you are on western arc you'll be missing a ton of HD stations on 129. Eastern arc only has 2 satellites, but the spacing is different than 110/119.

With any Dish receiver, you can probably receive some stations on a D500. But the problem is that, if you can't align it, you won't get anything. Note that Dish might well install a 1000.2 for free depending upon your programming package.
