Hopper Plus?

Hi,

I've had my Hopper 3 and wired Joey 3 for three years. A year ago, I call Dish and requested to add the Hopper Plus to my system. I have a Google TV box on another input, but would really like to have streaming and the Dish guide in the same interface. The installer arrived and said that it would be a mistake to install the Plus. He said there are too many problems with it. I really need a stable system so I agreed to decline the installation. What is the opinion of this community? Can I have the Plus and still have a stable Dish TV system?

I would say you had a lazy installer.

The Plus has been flawless for quite awhile now. (It was crap before) but I am happy with it now. I can't remember the last time I flipped over to my Fire TV hooked up to the same TV.

I have never understood the value of the plus, but then again I still have the hws
again I see no reason to move to the H3 since there is no 4K programming except streaming, and my internet service isn't that fast

A follow-up question for anyone who may know the answer:
My father-in-law has his own apartment in our house and is connected to our Dish system. He does not have an interest in streaming and would prefer to keep his same user interface where he turns on the TV and the guide is displayed. Is this possible with his wired Joey when connected to the Plus?

Yes no need for them to update their Joey to a plus if they are not interested in streaming.
