I meant specifically from the HWS to the TV, like component, HDMI....

thought the joey had to have a cable from the H3 connected

The Joeys connect to the Hopper 3 via a Hub that is usually in a centralized location. Example, all of my house cabling terminates in my garage. So, there is a cable that comes from the dish to the Hub location and then all cables get connected to the Hub. The Hopper "talks" to the Joeys via MoCa.
