Hopper w/sling adapter

I just purchased this hopper w/sling online and noticed in the picture there's some adapter on it..Can someone tell me what it's for ?

That's a SNAP. It improves the guide and GUI performance.

Okay.. Thanks..I just could see it looks like it's plugged into one of the usb ports..

It plugs into the top USB port only.
