Hello everyone,

My new 942 arrived yesterday, and right away I have a problem. None of the cabling that came with the new 942 will hook the HD output to the HD input on my Proscan PS36800HR TV. The Proscan has an input that looks like the end of your computer monitor cable, and a left and right RCA plug for audio.

Does Dish Network, or Radio Shack, or our local Satellite installer have what I need? What would the name of this cable be?

Thanks!

That would be a VGA or RGB input. I think there was a "converter" that you could buy at CircuitCity or Bestbuy. I think you just ran your component cables (this was in the days before DVI came along) in and a RGB cable out to the TV or set top box, which typically was an RCA, because RCA wanted to use their own types of connections. So, what you are looking for is not a "cable" although you will need a RGB cable. What you are looking for is a converter.

I would try that first. If it works simply look for a switching boxing for component inputs. A cheap solution I found was a deal on the madcatz xbox switch. Another more expensive route is to update your audio video reciever to one with multiple component inputs. Good luck! :D
