Hey guys, it's just me and my brother here at the house and we're planning on evacuating once we get the word. Since we're preparing early enough we plan on taking as much gear with us as we can to my sister's in San Antonio. The big screen will have to stay. What's the best way to protect it at the house?

I know this reply is a bit late, but I'd move it all to the center of the house or any room w/o windows and keep it all off the floor a few feet. Plastic drop cloths might be a good idea as well. In any case, make sure everything is unplugged from the electrical outlets.

Good luck and God bless.

If you can't lift it off the floor several feet in case of flooding, put a large tarp underneith it, lifting up the sides to the top. Then do the same from the top going down. This should help keep out any water that might start to enter the house. It's not guaranteed, but it will help in case of minor problems. With tidal surges and 15'-30' flooding like NO got, it's not going to do a thing.
