I want to install a motorized dish.

should i use rg6 or rg11 cable.

if i have a motorized dish can i still use the loop on the back of the stb to connect to another stb. Will i be able to control the dish from both boxes (i know one of the stb's has to be off)

If i use rg6 will it still be able to control the motorized dish(My home wiring is already rg6, hence my question)

Is there a way to combine all the channels from one dish in one set, and then the next group of channels in another set, so that when i change channels i can go through each dish in order.

how long is the delay in switching between dishes? I asked the previous question because i dont want different channels from different dishes scrambled all over. Then I would probably have long delays in switching between channels if they were scrambled all over the place.

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE :)

Either one should work. RG11 is recommended if you have a long distance btween receiver and motor.

Yes, that is fine.

Yes, you can.

Depends on how long the dish needs to travel. Usually motor run around 2 degrees/sec.

I agree

THANKS SO MUCH SADOUN

:D Thank you very much. Also which reciever do you reccomend for combining channels from each dish together so that the channels change faster and everything is more organized? Is it PVR compatiable. Thanks so much again

you mean each satellite? sure. I organize my channels by satellite going from E to W

so first is the G18 stuff (most English channels and 1st on the list)...those are form chanels 1-40ish...lets say 45
45-48 is the 3 free channels on Dish 61.5 (how to change the smartcard and a "you are at 61.5" screen
49-55 are the channels on 72W
56 is Ohio News on 74W (only 24/7 channel)
77-65 is 79W
etc
etc
etc

the feeds that I find blind scanning are at the end for easy deleting after the game

First time you set up blind scan each sat in order (72,74,79,83,85,etc)...that puts the channels in order and you can delete the ones you dont need after that

thanks iceberg! i had another question. I noticed channels that are exactly the same are on different dishes. For example lots of the arabic channels are on different dishes. I dont want channels to repeat themselves, but if i have a motorized dish and i blind scan all the channels, then im probably gonna get lots of repeats. i would delete them, but i think thats annoying, and also i would have to watch tv for a while to know which ones repeat themselves. also i would have to go through a deletion process everytime i blind scan. I do want all the channels, but just no repeats, i find that annoying! Thanks in advance.

also i may be confused. Whats the diff between a blind scan and a regular scan, I noticed u said u save all your blind scan channels at the end for easy deletion. Im confused. I ahvent got it installed yet, and i want to know everything there is to know when i get it. Thanks ALOT
